Was it this morning, when you opened your inbox an Was it this morning, when you opened your inbox and saw the many “to-do” emails from work? Or was it something else, like the news, a hard deadline, or challenging times with a close relationship?

Stress. We need it to survive, but when we experience stress daily, it’s the main thing that influences our hormonal health, mind, and overall quality of life. 

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕?
Your stress hormone, cortisol, regulates your stress response. Each time your brain registers something as stressful, it will tell your adrenal glands to produce cortisol. You’ll get into that fight, flight, or freeze response, so you can survive.

But nowadays, stressors are very different. They aren’t as dangerous anymore, but they keep showing up throughout the day. 

I can’t -stress- this enough: 
𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵! 

Taking a supplement, or eating healthy for a week is not the solution when you are often, if not chronically, stressed. You cannot fight the problem with external support, stress can only be healed when making adjustments to your lifestyle.

What is the first thing you do in the morning? Reading the news, opening your emails, or taking a moment for yourself to wake up?

What do you eat every day? Do you eat enough proteins and healthy fats, or do you crave sugars and salty food?

Do you manage your boundaries? How long are you scrolling on your phone each day and what time do you close your laptop? Have you accepted that difficult work relationship or are you willing to have that feedback talk?

I know it’s hard. Managing your stressors daily is a job on its own.
